Chet Burrell has held numerous CEO-level positions in the U.S. healthcare system for over 40 years, in both the public and private sectors as well as in the for-profit and nonprofit arenas. He has led major private payers covering millions of subscribers as well as startup and mid-stage health technology companies backed by private equity and venture partners. Chet has successfully overseen investments in more than 40 healthcare technology and service companies, especially in his leadership role as the CEO of CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Currently, as the Managing Member of Silavon Healthcare Holdings, an entity he established to pursue targeted areas of interest in the healthcare field, Chet is engaged in finding and overseeing highly selective investments in U.S. healthcare companies that are believed to offer both high social impact value and high investment value potential. Chet has chaired a number of boards of for-profit private healthcare companies. He is a graduate of Allegheny College and received a master’s degree in public administration from New York State University at Albany.
