David Murphy

David Murphy is Head of Alternatives Sales, Europe for Brown Brothers Harriman's (BBH) Investor Services business, which provides asset servicing and operating model solutions to the world's leading asset managers and financial institutions.

Based in London, David partners with GPs across the U.S., Cayman, and Europe to navigate operational complexity and identify solutions that keep pace with their growth and evolving business needs. He helps clients pinpoint operational pain points and navigate the complex ecosystem of launching and servicing liquid and illiquid alternative investments, including private credit, private equity, hedge funds, real estate, and infrastructure.

David joined BBH in 2023 to help drive the firm's continued innovation in alternatives. Prior to joining BBH, he led business development at Forensic Alpha, a specialist research and analytics firm. He previously spent 10 years at State Street as Head of Alternatives Sales for EMEA, partnering with institutional clients across the region. Earlier in his career, David held senior product and business management roles at BNP Paribas and Deutsche Bank, where he delivered strategic solutions to institutional investment managers.

David’s unique blend of product expertise, client partnership, and sales leadership give him a practical perspective on the challenges and opportunities alternative investment managers face in a rapidly evolving market.
