Women & Wealth Magazine Winter Issue 2020

January 09, 2020
In this issue of Women & Wealth Magazine we share insights from some incredible women who are redefining what success looks like.

In our feature, we sit down with celebrity chef Tiffani Faison. Chef Faison shares her journey from table busser to the first season of Top Chef to owner of four wildly-popular Boston-based restaurants. Along the path to success, she has focused on promoting inclusion in all her restaurants – both at the front of the house and in the kitchen – and becoming kinder to herself.

We also profile Renee Cherkezian, co-founder of Epicured – a meal delivery company that specializes in “food as medicine.” Everyone deserves good food, and Epicured strives to make people with even the most restrictive medical diets feel satisfied and well fed.

If you have ever dreamt about writing your own book, you will be interested to learn about Sharon Bially, the founder and President of BookSavvy PR, who helps women entrepreneurs reach a new level of success through book writing and publishing. For example, CEO and founder of Bright Line Eating Solutions, Susan Pierce Thompson, turned to Bially when she wanted to write a book about her personal weight loss journey in order to reach her business objective of helping one million people reach their goal weights by 2030. Bially shares actionable steps for anyone looking to get started on her own book. Let us know if you would like an introduction!

In this issue’s “By the Numbers” infographic, we highlight the contribution of women to the culinary industry – 60% of women in the U.S. have worked in the restaurant industry at some point in their lives. Women are now cracking the top ranks, representing 19% of chefs.

Increasingly, we are hearing from clients that they are considering donating to charities abroad. Senior Wealth Planner Anne Warren explores options for U.S. citizens and residents seeking to incorporate international giving into their philanthropic efforts.

Finally, in “Five Questions,” Sheena Wright, the first female CEO of United Way of New York City, shares how she leads her teams to enact measurable impact across the city – all while creating an environment where women support one another. She views supporting other women as “an act of gratitude.” BBH is a significant supporter of United Way, and our partnership allows many of our employees to participate in community volunteering activities through our BBH Cares program. Wright is an inspiration!
