The Fresh Take Winter 2023

In our Q4 2023 edition of The Fresh Take, a BBH Next Gen newsletter, we highlight what you need to know about your personal finances.

According to a 2022 financial literacy study, only 43% of Gen Z, 48% of Millennials, and 49% of Gen X were able to correctly answer finance-related questions. This knowledge gap could be related to the lack of financial education offered in schools: As of June 2023, only 29 states require students to take a stand-alone financial literacy course to graduate high school.

This holiday season, our gift to you is the personal finance issue of The Fresh Take. From how to construct a personal balance sheet to picking credit cards and retirement plans, this issue seeks to help you build and strengthen your financial literacy skills. What a better way to enjoy the holiday season than to budget for the gifts you’ll buy and learn to save or invest the gifts you might receive?

We hope you head into 2024 feeling more educated and confident in your personal finance journey.
