Self-Exploration, Understanding & Candid Dialogue: BBH Celebrates Its First Day of Understanding

As a signatory of the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion, BBH joined 2,000 other organizations dedicated to advancing DEI in the workplace.

In April, hundreds of BBHers from around the world participated in the firm’s first BBH Day of Understanding as part of our Diversity & Inclusion program. The day was devoted to fostering self-exploration, discovery and understanding of how we experience power and privilege and the impact that has on how we view the world and relate to others. Through a series of exercises, participants learned how to model empathetic responses, honor and set boundaries, and develop skills for creating shared meaning. The day’s core objective was to create a culture that embraces bold, inclusive conversation – even when perspectives are coming through a different lens.

During a time in which a pandemic, physical distancing and social justice movements cause so many of us to feel more isolated than ever, candid dialogue is a powerful tool to bring people together and drive positive change.”
