Tell us a little about your career to date.
I joined BBH as a summer intern in 2020, during what was probably the least traditional internship experience possible. The entire program was virtual, so at first, BBH’s culture felt like something people talked about more than something I could actually experience. To bridge that gap, I was encouraged to connect with colleagues across teams and learn more about the firm. As someone who was naturally introverted, that didn’t come easily at first, but those conversations added up. Over time, BBH started to feel less like a summer stop and more like a place where I could build a career.
After graduating from Amherst College in 2021, I joined BBH full time in Investment Operations. With a background in mathematics and political science, I had plenty to learn, but I was trusted with meaningful responsibility early on. The more time I spent in the role, the more interested I became in the investment and strategy questions behind the work.
The relationships I built through those early conversations and through YPN helped lead me to the Investment Research Group and later to my current role as a Strategy Associate within Capital Partners. Each move felt like a natural next step, giving me the opportunity to build on what I’d learned while stretching into something new.
What do you like about your role?
What I like most is that no two weeks look the same. One day I might be digging into data, and the next I’m helping shape a presentation or working through a new question with the team. That variety keeps the work interesting and keeps me learning.
I usually have a few different things on the go, and not everything comes with a clear playbook. That’s pushed me to ask better questions, get comfortable with ambiguity, and learn as I go.
I also really enjoy the storytelling side of data. It’s not just about putting numbers into a deck; it’s about finding the insight, deciding what matters most, and communicating it in a way that helps people understand the bigger picture.
Just as important is the team. We’re a lean group, so everyone has a meaningful role to play. I enjoy being in an environment where people talk things through, challenge ideas openly, and make the work feel collaborative. That energy is a big part of what makes the role rewarding.
You’ve held roles that didn’t exist before you stepped into them. What’s that been like?
That’s been one of the more exciting parts of my experience at BBH. The analyst role I moved into didn’t exist when I started in Investment Operations, and what I do now continues to evolve as business and client priorities change.
In both cases, there wasn’t a well-established model to step into, which meant I had the chance to help shape the role while learning it. That can be challenging, but it’s also a great way to grow.
When I joined BBH, I certainly didn’t expect this to be the path my career would take. A lot of it happened because I stayed open to new projects, said yes to opportunities, and followed the areas of the business that sparked my curiosity.
You’re very involved in the Young Professionals Network (YPN) and the Run Club. Why is that important to you?
I originally joined YPN and the Run Club because I wanted to meet people outside my immediate team. Over time, they became much more than networking opportunities. They helped me build meaningful relationships and feel connected to BBH beyond my day-to-day role.
With YPN, I started out attending events, then became New York Chair and now serve as Co-Global Chair. That progression has given me the chance to work with colleagues across offices and help create events that bring people together. It’s been rewarding to see how much energy those moments create.
Run Club has been a more informal way to build those connections. It’s given me an opportunity to get to know colleagues outside the usual work setting, which makes the firm feel less like just a workplace and more like a community.
What keeps you at BBH?
If you had told me during my internship that I’d end up where I am today, I wouldn’t have believed you. I started in one part of the firm and, through the relationships I built along the way, found my way into work that’s a great fit for my interests and strengths.
That’s what has kept me here. BBH has consistently given me opportunities to learn, stay curious, and take on new challenges. Just as importantly, the people I’ve met along the way have made each step possible. Being able to grow professionally while working with people I respect and genuinely enjoy spending time with has made BBH a special place to build my career.
