In April, hundreds of BBHers from around the world participated in the firm’s first BBH Day of Understanding as part of our Diversity & Inclusion program. The day was devoted to fostering self-exploration, discovery and understanding of how we experience power and privilege and the impact that has on how we view the world and relate to others. Through a series of exercises, participants learned how to model empathetic responses, honor and set boundaries, and develop skills for creating shared meaning. The day’s core objective was to create a culture that embraces bold, inclusive conversation – even when perspectives are coming through a different lens.

While each of the products is unique, they all use “proxy baskets” to avoid the possibility that investors will use disclosed information about an ETF’s holdings to front run the strategy. These structures may provide a compelling option for active managers to enter the ETF market without revealing their “secret sauce.” In this edition of Exchange Thoughts, we break down the different features of these active structures.
