Brown Brothers Harriman Appoints Three New General Partners

February 21, 2023 – Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. (BBH) is pleased to announce the appointment of three new General Partners: Thomas Davis, Christopher Gothard, and Justin Reed, effective January 1, 2023. Their appointments represent an important investment in the future of the Firm and reflect the strength of the Private Banking and Investor Services lines of business.

Tom Davis joined BBH in 2012 and oversees our New York, Latin America, and Chicago Private Banking offices. Tom is responsible for leading teams that provide debt and equity capital to founder-owned businesses as well as investment management and family office services to large family groups, endowments, and foundations. Prior to joining BBH, Tom worked at Goldman Sachs in the Investment Management division. He holds a B.A. from the University of San Diego and an M.B.A from the University of Notre Dame. Tom is located in our Chicago office.

Chris joined BBH in 2002 and has held a number of roles within our Foreign Exchange business in London and Hong Kong in addition to serving as the Office Head for London. Chris is taking on responsibility for our Global Markets group within the Investor Services division, including our Foreign Exchange and Securities Lending businesses. He holds a B.A. from the University of York and a Graduate Certificate from the University of London. Chris is located in our London office.

Justin Reed joined BBH in 2020 and serves as the Co-Chief Investment Officer in Private Banking. Justin co-leads the investment research group, which is responsible for manager selection, capital allocation, and investment decisions across the Private Banking client portfolios. Justin joined BBH with over 15 years of investment experience from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Princeton University Investment Company (PRINCO), and JPMorgan. Justin holds an A.B. from Princeton University, an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, and an M.P.P. from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Justin is located in our New York office.
