Brown Brothers Harriman Appoints Justin Reed as Deputy CIO

Reed joins BBH’s Private Banking business as a key member of the Investment Research Group.

New York, NY, September 17, 2020 – Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. (BBH), is pleased to announce that Justin Reed, formerly of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, has joined the firm as Deputy Chief Investment Officer within its Private Banking business. In this role, Justin reports to Private Banking Chief Investment Officer Suzanne Brenner and is a key member of the Investment Research Group, which is responsible for manager selection, capital allocation and investment decisions across the firm’s Private Banking client portfolio.

Justin brings extensive investment research experience to his role at BBH. Most recently, Justin served as Senior Investment Officer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art where he helped manage the Met’s $3.5 billion endowment, including manager sourcing and evaluation, asset allocation, performance analysis, market commentary, liquidity management, and investment committee communications. Prior to joining the Met in 2016, Justin was a Senior Associate at Princeton University Investment Company (PRINCO) where he directed efforts in Independent Return, which represented 25% of the then-$23 billion endowment. Justin is a graduate of Princeton University as well as Harvard Business School and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. He was named to Chief Investment Officer magazine’s NextGen Top 25 List in 2018 and Trusted Insight’s Top 30 Foundation Rising Stars in 2017.
