February 19, 2025 – Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. (BBH) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new General Partners: Lewis Hart and Christopher McCabe effective January 1, 2025. Their appointments represent an investment in the future of BBH and reflect the strength of BBH’s Capital Partners and Investor Services businesses.

“Partnership is both our structure and our culture, and it defines how we work with our clients and with one another,” said Bill Tyree, Managing Partner. “It’s an important differentiator for our Firm encouraging client intimacy, practical innovation, and workforce stability over time. We are delighted to welcome Lewis and Chris into the BBH partnership where our clients, partners, and employees will benefit from their specialized expertise, deep experience, and business judgement.”

Lewis Hart is the Head of our Corporate Advisory and Banking business (CAB) within BBH Capital Partners. CAB provides strategic advice and differentiated capital solutions to leading private and family-held companies. Lewis and his team serve as trusted corporate finance advisors, guiding business owners through their most complex growth opportunities and challenges. Lewis received a BA in history from the University of Pennsylvania and studied at the London School of Economics. He serves on several corporate and not-for-profit boards, including  Mallory Alexander International Group and the Global Family Enterprise Program at Columbia Business School. He also serves on the boards of The Gordon Parks Foundation, The Boys' Club of New York, and Collegiate School. Lewis joined BBH in 2005 and is resident in BBH’s New York office.

Chris McCabe serves as the Chief Information Officer for the Firm, prioritizing and directing technology development initiatives for the Firm’s Investor Services and Capital Partners lines of business. In this role, he oversees BBH’s Innovation Lab as well as Enterprise Data and Architecture. This includes BBH’s digital and data solutions that directly support our clients’ scalability and interoperability. Prior to this role, Chris managed IT Enterprise Functions, which included oversight of the Firm’s core technology infrastructure. He also held a variety of leadership positions in BBH’s Infomediary data services product area.  Chris lends his technology expertise broadly across the Firm, serving as a member of the Systems Oversight Committee, Investor Services Oversight Committee, Cyber Security Oversight Committee, AI Committee (Co-Chair), BCP Executive Committee and Service Delivery Oversight Committee. Chris holds a BA from the College of the Holy Cross and an MBA from Babson College. Chris joined BBH in 1995 and is resident in the Boston office.

“As a private partnership, free from the distraction of external public shareholders,” continued Tyree, “we are able to focus on those things we do exceptionally well. Our attention is directed toward investments in the technologies, products, and people we believe will contribute to the long-term success of our clients. This is our singular mission, and we look to Lewis and Chris to help sustain this for future generations.”
