In the feature article of this edition of Women & Wealth Magazine, Adrienne Penta examines the criticality of intergenerational communication around wealth values. She highlights the essential values that families should discuss with one another and describes the tools that BBH recommends to facilitate these conversations.

To continue our dialogue on facilitating family conversations about wealth, Beth Milkovits, a vice president in our Private Banking group, provides a guide for introducing the concept of money and its value to children. She outlines the different ways parents can present money management responsibilities and impart the value of a dollar and importance of giving to their children in various stages of childhood development.

The next generation of the workforce is here – millennials and Generation Z are taking control of the workforce, as well as over $40 trillion dollars in assets. In this issue’s “By the Numbers” infographic, we illustrate the importance of early education in developing the next generation’s financial skills

In another article, Sharna Goldseker, executive director of 21/64, interviews three passionate next gen donors to gain more insight about the causes that they are most interested in and how they are contributing to them. In addition, we provide a case study on Compass Working Capital and its founder Sherry Riva, who is working to provide low-income families with a roadmap out of poverty through financial education.

Our issue ends with recaps of recent CW&W events held with clients and friends – a dinner conversation focused on raising responsible children with Bryn Mars (who is also featured in “Five Questions”) and a Next Generation Summit for young adults, where we brought together a panel of three remarkable female entrepreneurs.
